Where can I find advice and support?

We have listed a number of organisations who might also be able to provide advice and support relating to a concern you may have.

Childline

Childline is a free, private and confidential service where you (as a child or young person) can talk about anything. Whatever your worry, whenever you need help, Childline is available for you, online, on the phone, anytime - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Calls from Jersey may be chargeable from mobiles and the number will appear on your mobile bill. To call Childline free from Jersey, try using a landline or phone box.

The Child Development and Therapy Centre

The Child Development and Therapy Centre is a Government of Jersey service based in the William Knott Centre at Overdale Hospital.

The centre offers a comprehensive assessment, treatment, diagnostic and family support service to children with complex developmental and / or health needs from birth to 18 years of age.

The centre has published a ‘Children with Disabilities Directory’. The directory provides information about support and activities available in Jersey that may be relevant to children with disabilities and their families. The information in the directory is complimentary to online information provided by the Jersey Online Directory (see further down for more information.)

Citizen’s Advice

Citizen’s Advice provide independent, confidential and impartial advice that Islanders need for the problems they face. They champion the rights of individuals and promote equality and justice for all.

They are open Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 3.00pm at St Paul's Centre and Tuesdays from 5.00pm to 7.30pm at Jersey Library.

Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

MASH is an umbrella organisation set up to oversee safeguarding concerns for children and young people in Jersey. It is a single point of contact for any concerns you may have about a child, including enquiries from professionals, such as teachers and doctors, or from members of the public and family members.

MASH working hours are 8:30am- 5pm Monday to Thursday; and 8:30am- 4:30pm on Friday.

YES Project

The YES project provides counselling and information to anyone aged 14 to 25 and its services are free, confidential and independent.

The YES project is based at The Link, Eagle House, La Colomberie in St Helier.

It is available Monday to Friday 12pm – 6pm.

You Matter

You Matter work with young people to build their self-esteem and help them to develop an understanding of their true value and worth.

They run workshops in schools with groups, parents and carers or one-to-one sessions with young people. These workshops aim to empower young people to talk about issues that they are facing.
